Our last week

Sunday nephew Rick took us on a hike up Mt Warning, named by Capt James Cook because it serves as a warning for the dangerous reefs just north of here. It is called Wollumbin by the Aborigines, which means cloud catcher.

The trail was described as strenuous but Carrie and I found it to be more agonizing than strenuous.

The tallest peak in the background is Mt. Warning.

Last night we were honored to be present at our nephew Will's swearing in as a brand new "Joey" of the Australian Scouts. Both boys and girls belong to the same group. The leaders are known as Kookaburra and Magpie.

Tomorrow we fly to Sydney and then home on Friday. We're anxious to see family and friends in GR but very reluctantly leaving our loved ones here.

Their loss is our gain. We'll be glad when you are back. Safe travels.
