Blauwkamp Family news

Biggest news: Chris passed the bar!!!!!!!!!!!!
News about the littlest Blauw: Andrew's recovering from a cold.
News from the oldest Blauws: last Friday we met with a longterm recovery committee that covers 4 counties in the lower Rio Grande Valley which suffered damage from Hurricane Dolly. An initially skeptical audience became quickly convinced that the CRWRC needs assessment would be a helpful service for them. Saturday we birded: best birds were both of the whistling ducks and the pauraque. Also lots and lots of different hawks. And beautiful butterflies. Today we did a little birding, drove to San Antonio, and flew to Houston. This week coming up: lots of meetings.
Here are a few of our butterfly pix.

The Great Kiskadee is a Rio Grande Valley specialty bird. You can hear it readily, it calls, Kis-ka-dee, kis-ka-dee.

Can you find the parauque in here? You probably will need to click on and enlarge the pic, and you may see him winking at you.

I was trying to find the wikipedia page on the Parauque, and it's actually pauraque.

Incidentally, I always think of you when I use wikipedia. It reminds me of when you used to say "Look it up in your Funk 'n' Wagnall's" :)
