Heading for Texas

We have been, despite the cold weather, busy putting our yard to bed for the winter. That means trimming back plants, getting our water fountains inside and mowing the lawn one last time. There was also the excitment of Carrie's last days of being 59.

We are busy planning our next CRWRC trip. We traded in our responsibility for the New England states and New York for Texas and Louisiana. We've been lobbying for some Gulf Coast states because there's normally more activity, but now we're reminded of the saying, "Be careful what you ask for...." The trip will happen next week and we will be gone a about 10 days. We'll visit the parts of Texas hit by Hurricanes Ike and Dolly and connect with local organizations for possible needs assessment by CRWRC. Then a few days in Lousiana checking on some ongoing reconstruction projects.
