We got to DC Friday night after an uneventful trip. A little longer than it might have been--in deference to high gas prices, global warming, and general green-mindedness, we pretty much drove at the speed limit--a little harder for one of us!
Yesterday we went with Chris and Allyson to the Air and Space Museum near Dulles Airport. It's in an old airport hangar, and there are an amazing number of aircraft there, covering the gamut from a Wright Bros. plane to the Enola Gay to a French Concorde. There were early stunt planes, WWI and WWII warplanes--US, British, French, German, Russian--and Korean and Nam era planes and helicopters, gliders, ultralights, speedplanes, experimental designs, even a solar-powered reconaissance plane. Afterwards we went to Oldtown Alexandria to wander around a little by the waterfront.
This morning we attended the Washington CRC with Chris and plan to spend the afternoon at the Mall, checking out a few museums there.
It's great to see Chris and Allyson again. They're doing well, studying hard for the bar exam a week from Tuesday. We're delighted that Chris has quit smoking--thanks to Allyson's influence!

happy you had a good trip and experience in DC. Are you driving to Louisiana too? or flying from Philly? Anyway, continued blessings on your travel. We are well Louise and Dick
