We got home last Friday after a great week of camping in the U.P. The weather was surprisingly--and welcomely--warm for the season. One of our highlights was the Porkies--we got in a very full day of sightseeing and hiking: Lake of the Clouds, Summit Peak, Beaver Trail and the Presqu'ile falls (sp?). The falls were very low due to the drought, but in a way that was interesting too because we could see the beautiful rock formations caused by the swirling waters.
This week we had CRWRC meetings Monday PM, all day Tuesday and Wed AM. Tomorrow we leave early for NYC for an Interfaith Board meeting and then back home Friday morning. Kind of a whirlwind.
Why we don't live in the UP
These are the beautiful rock formations in the Presqu'ile riverbed. And as you can see, fall color is happening already!
