Corrections

Like the New York Times it is our desire to give you accurate information and to acknowledge our mistakes by making corrections

Correction #1 : I stated that Malaysia has a free press and good interesting newspapers. I must have been getting too much hot sun because both of those are wrong. The press is far from free and what timid steps are taken by the press are met with strong government reaction. The newspaper are filled with mostly fluff articles and little news. If there is news it pictures gov't action positively.

Correction #2: The Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur are not the world's tallest buildings. Taipei, Taiwan has a building called Taipei 101 which is 509 meters (1,670 ft) tall. The Towers are 452 meters (1,483 ft) tall. There is some controversy whether or not towers on top of the building (like communication towers, antennas, etc.) can be counted. Both of these towers do count their towers. If you count only floors that can be occupied for office or residential purposes, then the Sears Tower reigns as the tallest, at 1,450 ft.
