If you have been reading the comments, you'll see a few Speedo comments there. In my own defense I want to say that it's Len who wrote Pool Talk, not Carrie. And he's censoring the remarks I wanted to make about his Speedo. There is a new Speedo of interest at the pool though. There's a gay couple and one of them has a bikini that has trim and stitching to make it look exactly like a tiny pair of men's briefs. You just don't see things like that at Holland Beach.
A couple of people have asked about books we're reading. Fortunately there are a lot of used bookstores around that cater to travelers like us. Our favorite books to find have been from the "Best American Series" that's published annually--things like Best Travel Stories of 2006, for example. We just finished Best American Essays of 2001 and are in the process of reading Best American Short Stories of 2003. Another book we've read recently is "White Teeth" by Zadie Smith. It was her first novel, and was so well written--covered issues of collapse of culture, the Green Movement, immigration, family relationships, all sorts of social trends. Highly recommended. On the light reading side, there have been an assortment of PD James mystery novels to keep us occupied while we're sitting around the pool. Plus crossword puzzles for Len and Sudokus for Carrie.
We're not doing much else besides reading, swimming, and walks along the beach. Maybe snorkeling later this week.

I sense an attempt to put the Speedo comments behind you and to move on to books again, but references to Speedo occur for several months already.
What is this?
And do you know that Speedo makes a wide range of athelic wear, some almost long enough to be worn in the NBA or to stand on the corner of Franklin and Eastern?
